Convention Center shuttles near the Gaslamp

Comic-Con is held at the San Diego Convention Center, 111 W. Harbor Dr, by the Gaslamp. When a big show is on, downtown curb space is tight. Agree one loading point with the organizer and stick to it.

If hotels are split between Downtown and Mission Valley, run two vehicles on staggered loops. One coach trying to serve both leaves people waiting.

Rules for buses in San Diego

  • USS Midway: vehicles over 18 ft may not park on Navy Pier.
  • USS Midway: buses drop near the ticket office; no staging on Navy Pier.
  • Balboa Park has city paid parking since January 2026.

USS Midway, Balboa Park and the zoo

At the USS Midway, Navy Pier is closed to parking for vehicles over 18 feet. The drop point is near the ticket office, and buses cannot stage on the pier. The driver leaves and returns at your pickup time.

Since January 2026, Balboa Park parking is city paid parking. The San Diego Zoo offers parking for oversized vehicles. Tell us which stop comes first and we plan where the bus waits.

Day trips north, east and south

Carlsbad's LEGOLAND is about 33 miles. The drive to Temecula wine country, about 58 miles, takes 70 to 90 minutes. Julian is a similar distance on slower roads. Los Angeles is two and a half to three hours. The San Ysidro border, about 20 miles away, is useful for a drop-off with a fixed return time.

For Petco Park or Snapdragon Stadium, decide whether the bus waits or comes back after the game.

Can the bus wait on Navy Pier while we tour the USS Midway?

No. Anything over 18 feet may not park there. The bus drops near the ticket office and returns for pickup.

Will a Sprinter van do for a Temecula wine day?

For up to 19 passengers, yes. Larger groups need a coach. Tell us the head count and wineries.

How early should we book for Comic-Con week?
