Sky Harbor is about 3 miles from downtown Phoenix. That makes airport runs quick, but Scottsdale hotels are farther out. If the group stays in Old Town Scottsdale or the Biltmore Area, budget more time than the airport distance suggests.

Convention shuttles and game days

Downtown, the Phoenix Convention Center has three buildings: North, South and West. Tell attendees which one the bus serves. Chase Field is also downtown, so a Diamondbacks game is an easy add.

State Farm Stadium is in Glendale, west of the city. For Cardinals games and the Fiesta Bowl, decide early whether the bus waits or comes back. Waiting time is part of the quote.

The Grand Canyon is a long day with a permit question

The South Rim is about 230 miles away, four to five hours each way. That is a long day. Plan an overnight or accept a very early start.

Commercial tour operators need a National Park Service Commercial Use Authorization, shown at park entry. Operators that run charters only check their requirements with the Grand Canyon Permits Office. We check this with the operator before you book, not at the gate.

Sedona, Scottsdale and the heat

Sedona is about 115 miles north, two to three hours. Jerome and Tucson are similar distances. Taliesin West and the Desert Botanical Garden sit close to Scottsdale hotels and suit a half day.

Summer heat is the main planning problem. Keep outdoor walks short, carry water on the bus and set pickup points close to the door.

Is Sedona and the Grand Canyon in one day realistic?

It is a very long day. Most groups do better splitting them or staying overnight. Tell us your limits and we plan around them.

Farther than downtown Phoenix, which is about 3 miles. Give us the exact hotel and we time the run.

What changes the price?

Date, hours, miles, vehicle and waiting time. A Grand Canyon day costs more than a stadium run. Nothing is charged until you accept.
