Charter bus rental in Miami and Fort Lauderdale

Charter bus rental in South Florida runs on cruise days. Two ports, two airports and a lot of luggage decide the plan.

MIA and FLL pickups for cruise groups

At Miami International, ground transportation is on Level 1. Cruise buses load at Door 1 on Concourse D and Door 33 on Concourse J. PortMiami is about 7 to 9 miles away. At Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, use the lower-level Arrivals curb areas; Port Everglades is only about 2 miles off.

Fly into the airport nearest your port. MIA to Port Everglades is a 30 to 45 minute drive; FLL is 5 to 15.

Charter bus rental at PortMiami and Port Everglades

Both ports control who drives in. PortMiami needs a port business permit, a GTS Go-Pass transponder, and a USDOT/FMCSA MC number for motorcoaches. Port Everglades needs its own business permit. There, coaches use designated areas outside the terminals.

Port Everglades has security checkpoints at the entrances. Every adult needs government photo ID, so keep IDs out of the checked bags.

Size the coach for a week of luggage

Cruise groups carry big bags. Bags must be stowed so exits stay clear, so a group of 16 with suitcases can outgrow a minibus. Under the floor, a motorcoach has 440 to 460 cubic feet of space. Tell us the bag count per person when you ask for the quote, not just the headcount.

Game days and conventions

Hard Rock Stadium is in Miami Gardens, north of downtown. The Kaseya Center is on Biscayne Boulevard. For shows, two convention centers serve different hotel zones: Miami Beach Convention Center, and Broward County Convention Center beside Port Everglades. Book from the side your group sleeps on. For games, set the return for the final whistle plus time for the crowd to clear the lots.

Everglades and the Keys

Shark Valley in Everglades National Park is an hour or so from Miami. Key Largo is closer to two. Key West takes four to five hours each way, which is a hard day for one driver. Plan an overnight.
