From FLL, downtown Fort Lauderdale is about 4 miles, or 10 to 20 minutes. Beside Port Everglades sits the Broward County Convention Center. Fort Lauderdale Beach hotels are close. For PortMiami, the drive from FLL is about 26 miles and 35 to 60 minutes, so a Miami cruise group usually does better landing at MIA.
Sizing for cruise luggage
A cruise group of 40 with two suitcases each needs a motorcoach with under-floor bays, not a minibus. For 10 to 14 people, a Sprinter van works if bags are counted in advance. The free shuttle to the Dania Beach Tri-Rail station suits one or two travelers, not a group with luggage.
