O'Hare charter bus rental and group shuttle

O'Hare has set lanes for each kind of vehicle. Knowing which lane your booking uses saves the first half hour of the trip.

Which O'Hare lane a charter bus uses

O'Hare has Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 5. Charter buses load from the lower-level commercial lanes, with one exception: at Terminal 5, the pickup is Door 5D's outer lane. Limos use the lower level too, in the center lane, lane 2. Rideshare is upstairs at Terminals 2 and 3.

A group that follows the rideshare signs ends up on the wrong floor. Tell everyone before they fly: lower level. The driver confirms the door with your group contact before the day.

The Multi-Modal Facility is not for charters

The Multi-Modal Facility is closed to charter buses. Groups sometimes see it on a map and ask to meet there. The answer is no. The pickup is at the terminal, on the lower level.

O'Hare to the Loop and McCormick Place

Downtown is about 17 miles, usually 30 to 60 minutes. Convention groups heading to McCormick Place should know that the Marshalling Yard, where 31st Street meets Lake Shore Drive, takes reservations. If the coach needs to wait between drop-off and pickup, we ask the operator to reserve a space there.

In Chicago, diesel vehicles may idle only 3 minutes per hour. In January that shapes the plan. The coach does not sit running outside the hotel, so have people ready in the lobby before the driver pulls up.

Staying in Rosemont, going downtown

Many groups stay near O'Hare in Rosemont and go downtown for one evening. Book the airport transfer and the evening together, or as two separate trips. Ask us to quote both. The airport has its own CTA Blue Line station, which suits a few people. A group with bags is simpler door to door.

At O'Hare, where does the charter bus pick up?

From the lower-level commercial lanes. For Terminal 5, from Door 5D's outer lane.

Is it the same place as Uber and Lyft?

No. At Terminals 2 and 3, rideshare is on the upper level. Charter buses are downstairs.

Can the coach wait at McCormick Place during our event?

Yes. The Marshalling Yard, where 31st Street meets Lake Shore Drive, can be reserved for that. Tell us the event hours when you book.

How long from O'Hare to the Loop?

Usually 30 to 60 minutes for about 17 miles. Plan on the long end on weekday afternoons.
