Coach & Minibus USA

Airport transfers by charter bus, Sprinter or car service

Airports treat a full-size coach and a black car differently. Know where your vehicle is allowed to load before the group lands.

Charter buses rarely load at the regular curb

Most airports send buses to a set spot. Dulles loads charters at Arrivals Doors 4 and 5. SFO uses courtyards on the Arrivals level. O'Hare keeps charters out of the Multi-Modal Facility. Each airport page tells you where to walk the group.

What the rules require

  • Airports such as ATL and IAD let only permitted operators pick up.
  • SFO charters must be pre-arranged; pickup in Arrivals-level courtyards.

Timing the pickup to the flight

Send flight numbers so pickups follow real landing times. Groups with checked bags take longer than you think. If people arrive on several flights, book the vehicle for the last one, or split the group across two smaller vehicles. Count bags too: twelve people with golf bags will not fit a Sprinter the way twelve with carry-ons do.

Questions

Where does the driver meet us?

It depends on the airport and the vehicle. Car service often meets inside; charter buses use a designated curb or lot. The airport page has the detail.

What if the flight is late?

With the flight number, the pickup follows the actual arrival. Long delays can add waiting time to the trip.

Can any bus company pick up at the airport?

No. Airports such as ATL and IAD let only permitted operators pick up.
