Coach & Minibus USA

Reagan National charter bus rental for groups

The US Capitol is about 5 miles from Reagan National, the closest of the Washington airports. Short drive, busy curbs. Here is how a charter bus pickup works at DCA.

Where charter buses and sedans pick up at DCA

DCA has two terminals. Limo and sedan pickup needs a pre-arranged reservation, which is what a booking with us is. Terminal 1 limo pickups use Curbside 3. Terminal 2 uses Zones 1 to 4 of Curbside 2, down on the Baggage Claim level. Sedans and SUVs use those points.

For coaches, the airport's curb map for Terminal 1 puts tour buses at Curbside 4. For Terminal 2, and any time you are unsure, the driver settles the meeting point with you ahead of the day.

Where your driver meets you

  • Limos: T1 Curbside 3; T2 Baggage Claim level, Curbside 2 Zones 1-4.

Waiting for a delayed flight at DCA

Construction has closed the Cell Phone Lot. For up to 60 minutes the garages are free, which helps a sedan or SUV. Whether that works for a larger vehicle is the operator's call. With fewer places to wait, the pickup has to follow the real landing time, so send every flight number.

DCA to the Mall, Capitol Hill and downtown hotels

Most groups head for Downtown and Penn Quarter, Capitol Hill, Foggy Bottom or National Harbor. DC limits motorcoach idling to 3 minutes, or 5 minutes at 32°F or below. The driver will not sit running outside a hotel while people check in.

If the plan includes Union Station, the front of the station is closed to charter pickups and drop-offs. On the National Mall, buses load only where a zone is signed. NPS bus parking is mostly in West Potomac Park, along Ohio Drive SW. Build the walking time into the schedule.

Choosing between the Washington airports

DCA is closest to the city. Dulles is about 26 miles out and has a written charter bus process. BWI is about 32 miles away. For a school or tour group arriving on several flights, getting everyone into one airport matters more than which one it is.

Yes. Limo and sedan pickup at DCA requires a pre-arranged reservation. Booking the vehicle ahead with us is that reservation.

At DCA, where does the charter bus pick up?

Curbside 4, for Terminal 1, per the airport's curb map. For Terminal 2, the driver and your group contact agree the meeting point before the day.
