Port Everglades Charter Bus and Group Transfers
Port Everglades sits about 2 miles from FLL, so the drive is short. The planning is in the permit, the checkpoint and the terminal. We book a permitted operator and send one quote with the driver included.
Have photo ID ready at the checkpoint
Security checkpoints sit at the port entrances, and adults need government photo ID. Tell the group before they board. Nobody wants the bus held while someone digs through a checked bag.
There are three entrances: I-595 East, State Road 84 and SE 17th St. The driver picks the one that suits your terminal. Send the terminal number with the ship name.

Ground transportation at the port
- Taxi, limo and bus services need a Port Everglades Business Permit.
- Coaches use designated areas outside the terminals.
- Security checkpoints at entrances; adults need government photo ID.
- Entrances: SE 17th St, State Road 84, I-595 East.
- Only U.S. seaport next to an international airport (FLL).
Nearest airports
- Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) — about 2 miles, 5-15 min
- Miami International Airport (MIA) — about 27 miles, 30-45 min
Short runs from FLL, longer ones from MIA
FLL is about 5 to 15 minutes away. MIA is about 27 miles, 30 to 45 minutes. A group landing at MIA can still use Port Everglades easily, but allow the extra time.
At FLL, every terminal's lower level has a Ground Transportation Booth, and some curb pickup areas are closed until further notice. We confirm the meeting point with the operator close to the date. Send every flight number so the pickup follows the real landing.
Permits and where the coach waits
Any taxi, limo or bus service at the port needs a Port Everglades Business Permit. Coaches are held to designated areas outside the terminals. We check the permit before we book. On return day, the driver waits in the coach area, and long waits add to the quote.
Matching the vehicle to the bags
Cruise luggage fills vehicles faster than people do. A motorcoach has large under-floor bays. A Sprinter van has a cargo area that varies by wheelbase. Send the bag count with the head count. Every exit must stay clear of bags.
Questions
Can we stay near the Broward County Convention Center before sailing?
Yes. It sits beside Port Everglades, so the morning run is short.
Does everyone need ID on the bus?
Adults do, at the port checkpoint: government photo ID. Keep it in hand luggage.
What if the ship docks late?
Tell us when you know. The driver waits in the designated area. Waiting time is part of the price.
